New MTZ Business Solutions’ Performance Features

MTZ Business Solutions consists of modules, which can be freely combined and extended. They access a database and are managed centrally by means of a Web browser. MIDITEC, the manufacturing company, has developed independent security systems from these modules. Starting from a comprehensive management system, attendance management, alarm notification, visitor management or video monitoring systems can be supplemented. The current extensions affect, among other things, training personnel in locking systems, the alarm status in the Local Security Network panel and the planning oversight using WebTerminal.

Visual Realization of the Locking System

The locking plan helps companies simply to parameterize the operation of their access control system. It is based on the locking systems of conventional cylinder-based locking technology and, for this reason, can be operated easily by both untrained employees and experienced operators. With the locking system dialog, MIDITEC has extended the “Doors”, “Equipment Groups”, “Weekly Schedules” “Weekly Schedule Groups” and the personnel database with a new visual component. The relationships between people, and equipment and doors, are represented by means of a cross-reference table. Therein, specific data has been assigned to each employee in relation to the individual doors. The checkboxes serve to set or remove specific equipment groups, for example: if several employees have the same access rights, or for the creation and editing of weekly schedule groups. Even time restrictions on access to various rooms can be selected here, and thereby managed clearly. Beyond that, the ability to set individual doors within these groups is available, which means ensuring access to individual doors without time restrictions to specific employees. While ensuring this access, the other locking system rules remain enforced. The new locking system dialog is available for the MTZ Business Offline modules, “Milock Office”, as well as the “Locking System” access modules.

Alarm Notification is first reset after pushing the Reset Control

A notification status flag was added at the Local Security Network panel in the Alarm Systems section. Currently, the alarm indicator goes out automatically after the sensor has been deactivated. In the new version, a setting in the Local Security Network bus configuration determines if the panel’s LED indicator should be reset statically or dynamically. If it is set to “dynamic” then each status change continues to be displayed; if set to “static”, the LED remains active until a reset has been performed, after an alarm has been triggered. Since all event and notification processing features are made available in the direct current conductor technology power station when alarms are triggered, the new reset feature is not only available for Local Security Networks but also for direct current conductor technology.

Expansion of the Planning Overview in WebTerminal

Even the WebTerminal planning overview has received several new features from MIDITEC. Thus, is now possible, for example, to display the causes of employee errors in the planning overview. If needed, this display can be made anonymous. Up to now, only supervisors had access to the planning overview in WebTerminal. This has been changed in the new version. As of this moment, companies can grant their employees, who have the proper rights, the option of allowing the planning overview to be displayed. Beyond this, any groups of people can be selected for display in the planning overview.
