Selective Internet access blocker for Schools

AVATECH has taken over the marketing of Net-stop, a device that can selectively block the Internet access of any student workstation in any school.

If one combs through the Internet for the term “bypass block”, an immense number of web forums, which all deal with the same issue, appear. “How can I get around the Internet blocks on our school’s PCs?”

Students of all ages are expending a great deal of time and energy, even during classes, to get around these blocks in order to chat during class, to log in to Internet games, or to read incoming mail. Even the usage of damaging software is not frightening for doing this.

Teachers have been directed to be able to block Internet access for workstations as simply and individually as possible, since proper teaching and exercises are often no longer possible.

Game Over Thanks to Net-stop

Net-stop represents a simple solution not just for classrooms but also for the whole school. Net-stop allows the faculty to block or open Internet access for the school computer in their own classrooms. Every computer workstation can be individually blocked or made available for the Internet with a simple click, even for the whole class. Misused Internet access by the students can be guarded against in this most simple manner. In this, Net-stop is very simple and intuitive to operate.

Despite blocking Internet access, all programs and network connections continue to work. The students are not limited in their work. Even the school network’s (LAN’s) data traffic is not limited in the slightest way.

An additional feature allows automatic Internet access blockage at individually pre-programmed times, for example during breaks.

Even for students with exceptional computer knowledge, it is not possible to hack the password-protected system.

Easy Activation

Net-stop is a small box, which is placed in the school between the Internet connection device (modem) and the internal network. One device suffices for up to 20 classrooms while the number of PC per class does not influence it's price. For the usage of Net-stop, software does not need to be installed nor does the system need to be modified. After a one-time configuration, the device can be deployed and is maintenance free. The procedure is well documented and does not require in-depth knowledge of computers.

Licensing and pricing are based on the number of classrooms per school, starting at CHF 720.00 for one classroom.

Using very few controls, teachers can operate Net-stop intuitively.

Net-stop can be installed without in-depth computer knowledge, and is simple and intuitive to operate.
