The Netop Asset Agent is designed to reconstruct a comprehensive collection of hardware and software configurations from the network and immediately report back any changes that have occurred. The efficient Netop Asset Agent has a very low overhead and can be required to execute at pre-defined intervals, therefore making it extremely non-intrusive to the end user. Using Active Directory integration, IT Administrators can also initiate remote scans leaving no footprint at all on the target PC. With the various search functions, advanced filters and reports it's easy to locate computers, printers, users and applications. The built-in approval process for installed software allows IT departments to categorise software types, enforce software policies and discover non-approved applications on the network. With close integration with Netop Remote Control, a simple right-click allows administrators to perform remote administrative tasks from their own PC.

Additionally, custom data can be introduced into the asset management process, for example, information relating to cost centres or leasing contracts and all custom data can be made available when generating reports.

Integrated license management reduces costs and risks

Because the Netop Asset Agent determines all software installations and their actual degree of utilisation, a company can more easily enforce its usage policies and dispense with unused licenses. The license management helps keep all associated license information up-to-date such as the number of licenses, serial numbers, prices, purchase dates and maintenance expiration. Central maintenance of license provisions can be achieved with only a few clicks, saving a company considerable time in the event of an audit.
