Enhanced Version 9.1 of NetOp Remote Control

The desktop management tool for professionals, NetOp Remote Control 9.1 supports all 32 bit versions of Windows Vista.

One ofthe leading software solutions for IT administrators and application supporters, NetOp Remote Control, has been enhanced with new features to make professional remote control in enterprises more flexible, more secure and faster. With the new release 9.1, Microsoft Vista is supported for all 32 bit versions: for both Guest and Host modules as well as the optional components Security Server, Name Server and the Gateway.

"With NetOp Remote Control you can basically remote control any system no matter what platform you are on. With the new version 9.1 we offer more flexibility, more security and easier and faster remote control functionality. For customers this translates into a more efficient use of IT resources and a higher ROI," says Thomas Steiner, AVATECH Business Unit Manager.

Improved software installation and distribution

NetOp Remote Control now includes a packaging and deploying tool, NetOp Pack'n Deploy. It saves time and creates flexibility in the deployment phase by preparing and packing the msi and mst files used to deploy Guests and Hosts.

An enhanced remote Smartcard login functionality offers one of the strongest authentication and authorisation procedures available in security critical environments such as finance and insurance industries. The remote Smartcard login enhances the existing Smartcard authentication on the NetOp Host. Using a local Smartcard reader an administrator can log directly into remote enterprise and application systems using a Smartcard for authentication and authorisation making service and support easier in high security environments.

Improved flexibility for Linux systems

The release also introduces a new and improved way to install and distribute the software as well as improved speed when remote controlling Linux systems. NetOp Remote Control now includes a Windows Guest implementation of the X-Window Player. This greatly improves the screen transfer rates between a Linux Host and a Windows Guest so the remote control process runs smoothly.

For the protection of confidential information, the windows of certain application can be excluded from this feature.

With the new guest presentation mode feature, the Guest User can send its screen information to a remote host computer, and in this manner, show the user specific applications, for example.
