Remote Access to the Company Network Simplified!

The G/On remote access tool is being offered with a completely new licensing scheme, which permits scaling to fit smaller companies and is much more attractive in its pricing.

Not much is required, very little really, to access the company network in Volketswil from Kagoschima or anywhere else in the world: a special USB stick (token), a USB port and an Internet connection, and…Voila!, an almost invulnerable connection to the company server has been created. No user interfaces in foreign languages, no clients to be installed. Simply insert the token, enter user name and password, and use company data and applications!

Even the administration of the remote connection is conceptually simple. Ten minutes are needed to set up a working connection precisely defined to allow a new field operative, telecommuter, supplier or customer access to the company resources. Additional connections are not possible, unless the administrator expressly releases them. That is G/On!

New Scalable Licensing

The user side uses either the indicated USB access key, or a desktop client (running on a laptop perhaps). The new license models Business (basic installation) and Enterprise (full installation) are available from the G/On server page.

A variety of additional features, which constitute the Enterprise Server when added together, can be ordered for the G/On Business Server Basic Installation. Briefly, the additional features are:

  • Server Failover:   Usage of redundant server and port addresses
  • MS SQL:   Databases under SQL Server instead of native
  • Multiple AD Domains:   Usage of several Active Directory domains for user administration
  • Auto Adopt Clients:   A new client (desktop client or USB access key) is automatically enabled.
  • Customize Splash Screen:   Optional modification of the initial image from the client site

Much Less Expensive User Licenses

In comparison with the earlier models, the user licenses have become considerably less expensive. A Business User License still costs CHF 302.00 (incl. one year of Software Insurance), however, the Enterprise License only hits the budget for just CHF 184.00.

The ability to upgrade a Business Edition at any time to an Enterprise License is the biggest advantage. Thought does not need to be wasted on later requirements or keeping the options open.

The Test Offer is not free

An impressive test environment has been setup with features on its own server, through which familiar applications can be accessed from the telecommuting site or when on the move. The test package, which each include a server license (Enterprise) without a time limit and a concurrent user license, as well as a desktop client and USB access key, costs CHF 655.00. Access to a prepared external test server with a USB access key would also be a less expensive option (CHF 99.00). The former option is more consistently selected by interested parties, possibly because it is not a problem to convert this test environment into a productive system after testing.

The G/On client is available as either a desktop client or as a USB access key.

Insert, identify, invulnerably connected: that is G/On!
